SMRTL’s professional leaders have extensive health care, scientific and management experience:
Kim Monti, Chief Administrative Officer, has over six years of experience in the development and early operation of SMRTL. She has worked in the bio-analytical services industry for over 20 years and has experience in the operation, quality assurance and management aspects of the business. Kim holds B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Biology and an M.B.A. from the University of Utah.
Vinod Nair, M.S., Associate Laboratory Director, has over seven years of analytical chemistry and biochemistry experience. Vinod currently specializes in detection and confirmation of performance enhancing substances in urine. He holds a B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Bombay and an M.S. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Utah.
Stacy Smeal, Ph.D., Associate Laboratory Director, has over seven years of analytical chemistry experience. Stacy currently specializes in the detection of performance enhancing substances and methods in blood and urine, including hGH, HBT, and EPO. She holds a B.A. in Biology from the University of Texas, and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Utah.
Myke Madsen, Director of Information Services, has over ten years of experience administering and implementing laboratory information systems throughout the United States. He has responsibility for developing and operating SMRTL’s state-of-the-art reporting and information systems. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Utah.
John D. Valiante, Senior Advisor, Business Development & Finance, has over thirty years of executive healthcare management experience, ranging from hospitals and physicians groups to managed care and specialty services leadership. At SMRTL, John focuses on business development, finance and leadership development with the Board and senior management of the laboratory. He holds a B.S. in Engineering and Applied Science from Yale and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
