Laboratory
SMRTL operates in approximately 10,000 square feet of newly renovated space devoted exclusively to anti-doping testing and research. With over $1.5 million in new tenant improvements, the state of the art laboratory is capable of conducting more than 30,000 tests annually.
Instruments
SMRTL utilizes a broad range of analytical instrumentation to meet its clients’ demand for urine and blood testing:
- Agilent LC/MS— liquid chromatograph / mass spectrometer
- Agilent GC/MSD— gas chromatograph / mass selective detector
- Applied Bio Systems LC/QToF— liquid chromatograph / quadrupole-time of flight tandem mass spectrometer
- Applied Bio Systems, Thermo and Waters LC/MS-MS— liquid chromatograph / tandem mass spectrometer
- Agilent HPLC—high performance liquid chromatography
- Thermo and Isoprime GC/CIR-MS— gas chromatography carbon isotope ratio mass spectrometer
- Luminometer— instrument used to measure luminescence
- Sysmex—automated hematology analyzer
- Flow Cytometer— used to count and examine microscopic particles such as red or white blood cells, one cell/particle at a time
- Immulite 2000— a high volume immunoassay analyzer providing a full spectrum of assays
- Olympus AU400e— an auto-analyzer that provides clinical, drugs of abuse and therapeutic drug monitoring
